Dear All

The following is an invitation from the Rudyard Kipling Society of Australia, whose February 27th meeting will be held at the hall of the Roseville East Uniting Church and will include a talk on "Rudyard Kipling and the Antarctic" by Dr Alan Cowan (from Canberra).

The meeting starts at 2 pm and the church hall is visible from and just across the street from the Roseville railway station, which is one stop beyond Chatswood and about 25 to 30 minutes from Central Station.

The speaker for the Rudyard Kipling Society of Australia meeting following this, which will be held on Saturday 29th May, 2010, will be Amelia Scholtz who will speak on "Rudyard Kipling and Japan".

There may be more dimensions to the writing of Rudyard Kipling than most people realize, as the Libertarian Futurist Society, who publish 'Prometheus', a quarterly journal of Libertarian Science Fiction, have recently announced the following finalists for the 2010 Prometheus Hall of Fame Award.

They are;
"No Truce with Kings", by Poul Anderson (1964),
'Repent, Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman", by Harlan Ellison (1965),
"As Easy as A.B.C." by Rudyard Kipling (1912) and
Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson (1999).

Wishing you well in all things.

Garry P. Dalrymple
A Sydney Futurian and Sydney Freecon Convenor,
but not necessarily a Sydney Libertarian Futurist
