Dear All

Just a reminder that the February Friday Night Sydney Futurian SF Discussion meeting will take place on February 19, at the end of this week.

The time and location - UTS Sydney, under the light sabres / Perspex Deathstar globes. Meet in the Broadway entrance of the University of Technology Tower Building's lobby, at or before 6.30 pm.

The topic is - Your Favourite SF Book / Series, or SF books that should be made into a series - A fairly light topic, but something that everyone can contribute to?

Each meeting features a discussion of recent Science, SF&F and Fandom news before the discussion of the evening's topic. Meetings usually end at about 8.30 pm.

The Topic for March will be - SF by Women Writers that differs from Mainstream SF writing (meeting closest to International Woman's day?)

Look up websites if you need more details - especially the Aust SF Bullsheet (that's what I do), it is very well edited, Hugo nomination material in fact!
Let me know if you know of any more Sydney-ish SF&F meetings, including University based SF&F groups.

'Pasturian?' News

If you look up the 'efanzines' website you can now read numbers 1 to 15 (1940) of the original Sydney Futurian's newsletter, as transcribed by Kim Huett from Bert Castellari's archive copies?

There may have been a FSoS est. 1939 meeting on Saturday January 30 (advice as per the Aust SF Bullsheet), further details not known. Contact Graham Stone if you are interested.

Might the past members of the 'Sydney Science Fiction Foundation' stir from their slumbers and re-form the SSFF at or after Aussiecon 4? Stranger things have been known to happen at Worldcons.
